The Big Switch
Monday, 15 October 07
Starting from this article this is no longer an Italian blog... but an English one, and all the next articles will be written in English.
The reason for this switch is that, after all, the target of this blog is not huge even in world scale, go figure if you look just at Italy. Moreover most of
my current readers are able to read an article written in English, especially
if I'm the author (my English is pretty basic, but I can write it without
any additional effort compared to when I write Italian stuff).
The feeling that everybody barely able to read English can read what I can write stimulate me a lot, and I'm happy that now I can actively contribute to two of the few sites I read multiple times in my usual work day, that are programming.reddit.com and news.ycombinator.com.
I'm sorry if you are a former reader not comfortable reading English stuff, the only alternative to this was to close the blog at all: I take the writing activity as important and I must do everything I can in order to maximize the impact of this activity spending the same amount of time.
I hope to see you here in this blog in the future.

if I had anything to write which could be even just mildly interesting to a larger crowd, I'd do the same :)

Then perhaps you might want to correct this little bug in your feed:
> ... when I write Italian stuff). continua con altri 694 bytes...
As well as most of the 'contorni' here being in Italian.
In any case, I look forward to being able to share your writings with a wider audience:-)

I suggest not to truncate the feed so the bug will be correctly automagically and I can read posts from my feedreader :-)

I agree with Buttha: don't truncate your feeds!
P.S. Are you actually more comfortable with english than italian? Cannot believe that!

spider: I really think the world would be better without truncated feeds, but I wrote it was a joke in order not to get him angry

@buttha: ok, you are right and I'll no longer truncate the feed. Changes online in some hour.
@spider: even if my english is not good, that's right: for me it's the same effort to write in English or in Italian. It's like to be "very fluent in bad english" :)
But after all to write a lot it's one of the simplest and more obvious ways to improve the style :)
@eio: yes, you can!

How ironic!
If I were a "former reader not comfortable reading English" I wouldn't get this anyway. :D

I had to take a similar decision too, but I created two blogs one in Arabic and the other one in English.
Now I realized that I write in my English blog Social, Technical, and Personal topics. So, I think I may divide it into more blogs, a separate blog for each topic.
